On 23rd October the Welsh Government, in partnership with CREW Regeneration Wales and Community Housing Cymru, hosted the Wales Regeneration Summit at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea. The theme of the summit was ‘Recreating the future of Welsh towns and cities’, and aimed to establish a dialogue to look at what activities will support the future development of town and city centres. Plenary sessions took place in the morning and afternoon, supplemented by interactive workshops throughout the day designed to get delegates really thinking about what our towns and cities might look like in the future, and the importance of making key links to the bigger regeneration picture of health, housing and the economy.
The Minister for Communities and Tackling Poverty, Lesley Griffiths AM, addressed the Summit on the key regeneration programme Vibrant and Viable Places and on her vision for regeneration in Wales.
This initial tranche of information, is part of a wider compendium of post-Summit feed- back, notes and commentary etc which will be posted-up on the CREW web site in the near future.
