CREW: Centre for Regeneration Excellence Wales

NEWSLETTER JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2017

Another year ahead! After an initial establishment stage under new management, CREW will be seeking to promote itself throughout Wales in the coming months. Some of the key challenges will be the implementation of the Well-being of Future Generations Wales Act 2015; the Welsh Government’s new approach to building “Resilient Communities” in Wales, which is being taken forward by Communities Cabinet Secretary Carl Sargeant; and achieving progress with the City Region initiatives in Wales.

CREW Events

Following CREW’s “Sustaining Welsh Communities” Conferenceheld in September 2016, a successful Deep Place and Foundational Economy seminar was held in Cardiff on the 15th of November. A report, with the presentations, can be found on the events page of the CREW website

Proposed events in February 2017 include a meeting of the Welsh Towns Group in Cardiff on Thursday 2nd; and a seminar relating to Resilient Communities agenda in Wales. The date and venue for the latter will be resolved in the near future.

Additional events are proposed in North Wales and in South West Wales. Details will be circulated and published on the web site.

If YOU have any regeneration related subjects suitable for events, which you think are important the regeneration policy makers and delivery practitioners in Wales, please let us know.We have no intention of duplicating events already being held; and we will seek collaboration with other organisations and bodies who are pursuing a similar agenda.
